Course Description

Female sexual problems affect a significant portion of the treatment seeking population in psychology offices. Sexual health problems often present comorbid with others psychiatric disorders. 

Erectile Disorder, Premature Ejaculation, Delayed Ejaculation and Male Hypoactive Sexual Disorder will be highlighted. Special Populations such as teenagers and older men, as well as psychosexual outcomes of circumcision will be discussed.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the difference in major sources of nosology in sexual problems
  • Assess whether the clinician is being presented with a dysfunction, disorder, discomfort or distress about a sexual problem
  • Assess for relationship context and make an accurate diagnosis of FSD in planning treatment
  • Explain rationale in the DSM-5, ICD-11, ICSM and AFUD for combining or keeping desire and arousal separately
  • List major categories of diagnosis for female sexual disorders
