Course Description

In clinical practice, it is often conflict surrounding sexual desire and frequency that prompts couples to seek therapy. Desired frequency of sexual desire seems to be a major factor in relationship satisfaction.

We will review current research in this topic and apply it to clinical settings.

We will discuss how relational intimacy moderates relationships with or without Female Sexual Dysfunction present.

We will identify validated measures clinicians can use to assess for desire, frequency, relational intimacy and FSD.

All this will take place within the framework of clinical application to help course participants enhance their clinical skills and efficacy of treatment. Case examples and anecdotal evidence will be presented. In addition to all this, we will have fun with some interactive surveys, reflection questions and discussion of clinical observations.
